Matthew focuses his practice on the representation and support of business owners and commercial entities in all phases of the business life cycle, including contract negotiations, complex commercial disputes, and bankruptcy matters. Matthew’s wide range of experience in the legal and business fields provides him with a unique perspective which enables him to identify, evaluate, and advise a client of the implications of a targeted legal strategy, while also recognizing and properly considering the resulting long-term economic and business realities a client may face.

Matthew graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law, cum laude. While completing his law degree, Matthew also graduated from the University of South Carolina Moore School of Business with an International MBA, summa cum laude, with a focus on finance and business administration. During law school, Matthew was highly involved in Moot Court, where he was selected to the Order of the Barristers, argued before the Supreme Court of South Carolina, and won the CALI Award for Excellence in Appellate Advocacy.

Prior to law school, Matthew attended Furman University on a baseball scholarship, earning a degree in Business Administration. During his spare time, Matthew and his wife volunteer with local animal rescue organizations, including Lowcountry Lab Rescue and the Darlington County Humane Society.
